If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that love is never canceled!! We have taken the time to reflect, be grateful, and honor the opportunity to celebrate the big and small moments with others. Yes, the pandemic has changed the way weddings and events are done yet, it has given us the chance to discover new trends, create new experiences, and experience new beginnings with intention.

Smaller but BIGGER

  • Intimate/Micro weddings

Narrowing down your guest list allows you to focus on the ones nearest and dearest to your heart and, to create an unforgettable experience, that is authentic for you, your love, and your guests. The upside of having a smaller guest count means you’ll be able to go all out and celebrate in a BIG way, so design amazing tablescapes, include statement installations, and curate a refined menu with a specialty cocktail list. Don’t forget to read our Blogpost The Magic of Intimate Weddings (May 9th, 2020) for more inspiration and advice.

  • Weekday Wedding

Given all the rescheduled weddings of 2020, having your wedding on a weekday is a wonderful option for couples hosting micro or intimate weddings, as well as our budget-conscious couples. Weekday weddings allow for an increase in availability at your favorite venue and for some venues and services, a decrease in price!

  • Brunch Wedding

It’s a Sunday kind of love…Bellinis, Mimosas & Brunch in a lush garden, YES PLEASE! Place a cute “The Daily Vow” newspaper at each place setting for your guest to read with coffee! As we head towards more outdoor weddings, take advantage of the daylight and end the festivities in the late afternoon or early evening. Or, go ahead and party-on through the night!!!

The Guest Experience

  • The wedding box, sendoff kits, inclusion of favors

Sit down with your professional wedding planner to design and coordinate welcome boxes for each of your guests to safely house all event necessities in one place. Perhaps add in some personalized hand sanitizers, wedding favors, and wedding programs along with something sweet and a small water bottle (personalized wedding label, YES!)…the ideas are endless.

  • Charcuterie board for one & Cocktails (to-go)

Long gone are grazing tables for cocktail hour, picnic baskets are just one of the inventive ways couples are hosting!! Of course, what you serve will vary depending on the theme of your wedding but just imagine, individualized bite-size portions in an all in one “bento-box”, eliminating lines at your food stations and bars. Pre-made/pre-packaged options are becoming more sophisticated so get creative with your planner and caterer to design an awesome To-Go libation station.

  • Single tier and mini cakes

Smaller in size, dramatic in detail, and with safety in mind! Individual-sized cakes have a major wow factor and are forecasted to take “the cake” (pun intended) by storm. For you and your love, a single-tier cake could have a more intricate pattern or design.

  • Personal Touch

Weddings, as a whole, will have a deeper meaning, with an extra layer of love and appreciation for the opportunity to finally be able to celebrate with our loved ones. Why not incorporate personal notes on each guest place setting or use a photo of you with that specific guest as the place card!

Outdoor weddings under the twinkly lights

Traditional ballrooms have taken a back seat to Al Fresco spaces. Couples are looking to have their weddings outdoors, surrounded by nature and beautiful scenic views. Make sure to connect with a wedding planner to go over the various details needed to pull off an outdoor affair, we’ll save that for a future blog.

  • Tents

Tented weddings are the new ballroom. Turn to a professional wedding planner for options on elegant, whimsical, rustic tent options. And, to help create the exact ambiance you want, your planner can advise you on how to best add lighting, drapery, and/or floral installations.

  • Lighting

The ambiance and aura of your venue are essential for creating an unforgettable and elevated experience for your guests, right from the start. Envision dramatic lighting, custom fixtures, statement chandeliers, outdoor fireplaces, and lots & lots of candles. How about creating caves or curtains out of innumerable twinkly lights?? Think outside the box, now, there is no box…so talk it over with your wedding planner who will ensure that your wedding day makes a huge impact.

2021 weddings are all about experiences. Interactive guest experience is on the rise with live music performances, comedians, dueling pianos, tarot/palm reader, magician, and/or sketch artists, etc. What about a cool cocktail service or an espresso bar? This is an opportunity for you to do something different and allow your personality to shine. Engage your guests with some of your favorite things.

Décor, Florals, and Color with flair

There will definitely be an abundance of flowers, foliage, and mixed textures. Create a beautifully balanced space with an uplifting atmosphere. Use statement archways to frame entrances or create focal points, or have guests sit under a canopy of hanging flowers.
